Platform One Foundation subscribes to a process of uncompromising commitment to creating a sustainable system of living for humanity and the natural environment of Earth. Our Charter outlines our Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Objectives. We choose to address the hard societal issues head on such as population responsibility, exploitation of planetary resources and the disconnect between our material and spiritual worlds. With a systematic and holistic methodology we aim to create a truly sustainable platform community which will allow for harmonious evolutionary development of society both spiritually and materially. And we plan to enjoy and celebrate the journey as we go! While we dont have all the answers and systems to support a new paradigm of living, we do have a good understanding of what doesnt work and that is our starting point. In support of this, our village infrastructure will include cutting edge building design and practice, energy independence, transport solutions, organic commitment, integrated permaculture, a revised monetary system and agreements as to population management, all with in a bottom up philosophy. Bottom up, in this context, is literally meant as what the land and participants can sustain within a healthy and harmonious existence with nature. It does not include top down decision making based upon unsustainable financially based business decisions which are not in alignment with natures business models.
A NZ registered Charitable Trust is the operations entity which manages the affairs of Platform One. There are (currently) 13 trustee positions available of which 3 are currently filled. Founding members are envisioned to fill most of the remaining positions with allowance being made for some third parties (similar to non executive / consulting Directors of companies) to add external perspectives. The Trust shall, among other functions, fulfill the role of a body corporate and act in the best interests of its members, administrating and managing business affairs and financial aspects of the communities activities. While currently filling the official entity role, it is the intent that a governance model of tribal council shall be nurtured with intent to foster consensus however, so as not to inhibit momentum and growth, a democratic voting model of 90% majority shall be utilized in policy and decision making. 
Our systematic approach includes a commitment to co-create and continually evolve communication, co-create transparent understandings and detailed community planning supported by clear and comprehensive agreements. Drawing upon the history of aligned community projects nationally and globally, Platform One incorporates the best aspects of these successful community structures while heeding those aspects which havent worked and building in systems to address them. Platform One offers the devilish details and commitment to a thoroughly planned project including land use, community and population agreements along with engagement and exit strategies which are all critical to the success of the project. Our communication methodologies include utilization of the Vistar Evolutionary Circle methodology, NVC, tribal council within a true commitment to bottom-up democracy. A commitment to these processes is fundamental for all Founding Members. Detailed village Understandings and Agreements are under revision and once final land selection has taken place, contextually appropriate versions will be made available.
