Become involved in a sustainable living opportunity and co-create an evolutionary village living paradigm in Aotearoa New Zealand dedicated to supporting Youth of all ages!. Our systematic and holistic approach is focused upon creating an integrated permaculture village and learning centre offering practical education for sustainability based on the physical, social, environmental and economic models operating in the village. Secure and Nuclear Free, the south Pacific island nation of Aotearoa offers an abundant natural environment in which to create your own personal family sanctuary within a resilient and sustainable community model.
Our village infrastructure will include both historically proven and cutting edge building design and practice, demonstrations of appropriate technologies for building, energy independence, sustainable transport planning & solutions and an uncompromising organic commitment to permaculture practice. We also plan to explore a revised monetary & values system based upon a resource based economic model underpinned with our bottom up philosophy.
At the heart of the Platform One community concept is an aligned vision and commitment to personal spiritual development while living holistically within our natural environment.One of the core intentions for the community is to create and refine robust sustainable living platforms with focus upon creating resource based economic models which are in harmony with our natural environment, material and spiritual worlds.
We are currently engaged in a small demonstration proof of concept eco development on Waiheke Island having sourced a magnificent block of north facing ocean view property. We are building a modified Earthship design home which in turn integrates itself into a living food landscape managed within organic permaculture and holistic design principles. The build will be done completely off grid and aims to set the benchmark for sustainable development processes for both buildings and land. If we are successful, this will be the first 10 Homestar building in NZ and be built largely from trash!
Once completed this project will then serve as Platform One Foundation basecamp where team planning and meeting may take place in an ambiance which is truly appropriate. We will also offer tours of the demonstration project once up and running.
